The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers for the community.

SASSA might be rendering solutions which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency said it's alarmed with regards to the high range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme sassa status check [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office dedicated to service the area regularly. The support level created for intervention encounters a superior influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for that office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to help the servicing of all buyers and improve usage of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
